StreetcredMusic: Lots of Women Play Piano, Pt 1. Kayce Laine and Carole King

 The piano is an acoustic, stringed musical instrument invented in Italy by Bartolomeo Cristofori around the year 1700 (the exact year is uncertain), in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). It is played using a keyboard, which is a row of keys (small levers) that the performer presses down or strikes with the fingers and thumbs of both hands to cause the hammers to strike the strings.

So take a look here at a familiar face  Kayce Laine an original #Pianowoman. Four years now after the first #Pianowomen shoot, we got together to see what's been going on in her life.

We did not know it but just days after we were in New York City shooting this, Covid devastated the area we were staying in. Kayce went back to Nashville and spent a week with a flu like illness. Me I got lucky I guess, I was fine.

Alessia Ramusino

Alessia Ramusino was born in Genoa.

She began traveling when she was only 20 days old, thanks to her father’s job as a geologist. He was transferred to Iran and the whole family lived there for the larger part of Alessia’s childhood. She kept travelling, living in several countries, such as Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and the United States of America, thus enabling her to get in touch with different people, languages, religions, traditions and ways of life and creating in her the necessity to find a common language that could overcome the ethnic differences. This is the reason why Alessia chooses the English language to write the lyrics of her songs.

Cezara-Lucia Vlădescu started her piano studies with her mother, also pianist, Carmen Giorgiana Vlădescu.

At the age of fourteen she was admitted under exceptional circumstances and with the highest score at the Music Academy in Karlsruhe.
Here she pursued her studies at the special division of ´Young Students` with Prof. Günter Reinhold. She completed her studies earning her Bachelor degree and
Artist Diploma at the Music Academy in Karlsruhe (Germany) in the piano class of Prof. Dr. h.c. Fany Solter.
Between 1994 and 1999 she won first prize in numerous national and international piano competitions.
